I designed this coat-dress for my wedding. Inspired by a rose garden that could bloom as if by magic in the winter fog of Venice, the coat unfolds as one of the white roses that, in turn, decorate its voluminous skirt. More roses appear and disappear in the damask weave of the jacket and finally emerge full from the neckline in a riot of wool petals, organza and satin. A soft wool-silk damask jacket supports the wide gazar skirt. Together they give life to this double-breasted coat. The sculptural structure with soft scrollwork pays homage to Venetian Baroque.
